(Altezza: s.l.m. m 519 - Distanza: da Lisciano Niccone Km 2,5; da Umbertide Km 24). Ha origini molto antiche. Fu costruito infatti sulla cima della collina che sovrasta il paese da Est, intorno al IX-X secolo. Nel 1202, per opera dei marchesi del Monte che lo possedevano, si pose sotto la protezione di Perugia, di cui seguì le sorti. In fact it was built in the IX-X century on the top of the hill overlooking in the town. In 1202, thanks to its owners, the Marchesi del Monte, the castle was put under the protection of Perugia, following the destiny of this town.
Dopo un breve periodo in cui appartenne alla famiglia Casali di Cortona, nel 1479 tornò sotto il governo pontificio e vi restò sino a quando, nel 1861, non fu unito al			For a short period it belonged to the Casali Family from Cortona, then it fell under the Pope's rule (1749), and in 1861 the castle became part of Reign of Italy.
Regno d'Italia. Appartenuto anche ai Marchesi di Sorbello, del vecchio castello rimangono oggi solo pochi ruderi, a testimonianza della sua imponente mole. Qui aveva sede il comune, prima di essere trasferito a valle. In località Val di Rose, vicino alla frazione di Crocicchie, si trova la chiesa di S. Niccolò che custodisce una pala di scuola raffaelliana dipinta, intorno al 1515, da Eusebio di San Giorgio.		Among the different owners who followed one another during the time, we may also remember the Marchesi di Sorbello. Today there is nothing left but some ruins, to prove the imposing structure of the old castle. Here the municipal administration had its original seat, before being moved downhill. In Val di Rose, near the hamlet of Crocicchie, there is S. Niccolò Church where people may admire a Raphaelesque painting by Eusebio di S. Giorgio, dating back to 1515.
